"I wish to congratulate Innovative Waste Technologies (IWT) on the success of the pilot wastewater treatment plant trialled at the AJ Bush & Sons (Bromelton) site. The Environmental Protection Agency is very pleased with the outcomes of our partnership under the Energywise Queensland Program. I was very pleased to hear that the success of the pilot plant has lead to AJ Bush & Sons being awarded a $715,000 grant under the National Food Industry Strategy, to help commission an advanced pilot plant and commercial scale prototype wastewater treatment plant. The EPA is committed to supporting Queensland businesses in improving resource efficiency. Your project has demonstrated that high organic load wastewater is a valuable resource that presents energy saving opportunities for industry. I believe these findings will have widespread implications in the wastewater treatment industry, and I look forward to featuring IWT in the next edition of our Compass Newsletter."

“Food Safety Services (SA) Pty Ltd organises a Technology Tour for the meat processing industry each year that is funded by Meat & Livestock Australia. In 2007 we are targeting best practice and innovation in environmental management. We are very keen to bring the 15 meat personnel to look at the new covered anaerobic pond (in whatever form it presents on the day) and the ultrasonic gizmo. We believe that this represents best practice environmental management - this technology will be very topical.” Dr Mike Johns, Principal, Johns Environmental; Consultant to MLA, in his request to visit the Quantum BioEnergy installation at A J Bush Rendering plant in 2007. "I'm very proud to announce the outcomes of a recent partnership between the EPA (Sustainable Industries Division) and Innovative Waste Technologies.* The partnership is an example of how collaboration between government and industry can provide valuable findings in relation to developing sustainable industries. The EPA partnership with Innovative Waste Technologies began last year when it received a grant under the EnergyWise Queensland program. The results of the pilot plant trial indicated that Innovative Waste Technologies could expect to double the biogas yield from a typical biogas recovery project when compared to the yield from existing technologies Innovative Waste Technologies chose the A. J. Bush & Sons rendering plant at Bromelton in the Beaudesert Shire to install its pilot wastewater treatment plant. The company received an EnergyWise Queensland grant of $100,000 to assist with the trial. The pilot project successfully demonstrated that innovative Queensland projects exist that harness the energy from high-strength wastewater for re-use in production processes at great benefit to individual businesses and the environment.”
